Sunday 19 November walk
David Steel will be leading this five mile walk on the west side of the village, starting from Burley Station at 10 am. All welcome. Just turn up.
Dogs on fixed leads are allowed as long as owners have the required insurance.
We will make our way along Hagg Farm Road then pass through fields and woodland before crossing Moor Road. The route then follows the Ebor Way to Stead Crag. Crossing back across Moor Road we take the path to Audley Clevedon. After a stop for refreshments we return on paths back to Burley..
There are some short steep sections, and a number of step stiles. Given recent weather it is likely to be muddy in places.
Friday 1 December walk
This will be our first short weekday walk which we hope to continue on the first Friday each month. We will leave Burley station at 10am. All are welcome so just turn up for a walk between three and four miles Dogs on leads are welcome with the required insurance.
The December walk will be just over three miles. From the station we will walk to Scalebor Park recreation ground before taking the path through fields to Stead. The return route to Burley passes Catton Wood then crosses the railway onto Sun Lane.
We plan to finish the walk at the Fountain for Life at the bottom of Station Road by 12.00. with the option of refreshments at one of the nearby places in the village.
Sunday 17 December walk
For our Christmas walk this year we are invited to have our refreshments again at Bleach Mill. On this occasion Sue and Simon Richmond propose donating any proceeds to our kissing gate fund. More details in the December email.
